The Karabikha Museum
|
The
Karabikha museum is the only estate in the Yaroslavl region that has
preserved its original architectural look. The two-storied house with
belvedere and wings is buried in verdure. From the 18th century
Karabikha belonged to the Princes Golitsyns and was used as a native
residence of the Yaroslavl Civil Governor. In the 1900-ies the famous
Russian poet N.A. Nekrasov bought the estate. In the museum-estate
Karabikha one can have a rest and also spend time with benefit. While
going on the estate tour you can become a participant of the following
museum’s programs:
– “Legends of the Old House” – you will get acquainted with the family
history of N. A. Nekrasov.
– “Games, Funs and Amusements” – a playing program for those who wish
to learn several Russian games in summer and to go sledging in winter.
– “To Granddad Mazay” – an unusual trip both for children and adults to
the land of Nekrasov’s heroes.

The Znamenskaya
Tower
|
The
Znamenskaya Tower is also called St Blase Tower, and it's one of two
stone towers of town fortifications of the XVII century, built on the
site where there were wooden towers which burnt down in 1658. Today
there's jusr the tower... no walls, no buildings! However the tower
itself looks (and possibly acted) as a fortress: the structure is
massive, with thick heavy blind walls, merlous at the top, an arch
passage-way at the bottom, and the never-missing onion-shaped cupola. |
